The Cosmic Artist

I had the most incredible experience yesterday and I just wanted to take a quick moment to share it with you.

We are fortunate in our community to have many organizations that are invested and interested in promoting art of all kinds.  Visual, dramatic and musical arts to name a few.  This is the one thing I love most about Greensboro, and I appreciate all the opportunities we as the community have to engage with the arts, even participate in them if we are so inclined.

Yesterday, I went to a FREE City Ensemble Concert by the Greensboro Concert Band.  The talent we have in our world never fails to amaze me, even in our local communities.  People are creative beings.  They are born to create.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE experiencing their art and talents and creations, even in their smaller and humbler forms.

And this music was GREAT!  It was bold and engaging, the conductor was gregarious and full of fun information about the pieces that were played.  I felt myself being sucked up into the music as if I was becoming ONE through the ethers with the whole of the band.  It was a bit like synesthesia, or a type of maybe.  I experienced this music so differently than I have typically experienced my classical music concerts in the past.  I didn't see colors, but maybe with a little bit of sustained brain training I will someday.  That would be SO cool!

The concert started out with the band playing Leonard Bernstein's Overture to Candide, a classic, familiar to the ears.  It went on with lesser-known composers, not in my repertoire anyway, but fascinating, engaging and exciting, nonetheless.  There were a lot of discordant harmonies going on through several pieces, this seemed to be the theme, but the frequencies were alive and invigorating great to keep people awake on a lazy Sunday afternoon.  There was an occasional allegretto, a softening of the intensity and the pace.  Overall, a nice balance.  Obviously, I had a great time listening.

Candide by a different band...but you get the gist.

I absolutely, positively felt JOY, JOY, JOY!  It was incredible, almost to the point of tears.  It was beautiful and bliss and I did NOT have anything psychedelic or otherwise mind altering for lunch yesterday.  Just a bit of green juice.  Who knew!  I enjoyed it immensely.  I would love to find or develop a way to facilitate this experience within others if they were interested.  This would be a lovely sort of service, or gift, to include in my soul mission to heal the world and make it a more loving, lovely place.

I am absolutely coming to realize that whatever my unique soul mission looks like going forward, it definitely includes art and the arts.  ART for ALL is what I just kept thinking about yesterday as I experience this musical journey.  Art and Alchemy.  Everyone who so desires should be able to have their creative proclivities enlightened and have their artistic receptors activated as much and as often as possible.  What a beautiful world that is.  That is my world.

I want to contribute to that however I can.  I have some ideas.  But that's a post will for later down the road.  Today, I was tickled to get a little bit of synchronicity in this message from Xandi.  The "Cosmic Artist"...I couldn't not use it.  "Painting the future with the color of your souls."  AHH!  How BEAUTIFUL is that!?!

We are ALL Cosmic Artists.  Our Authenticity is the key, it is the color.  Some of us are waiting for our canvas to arrive.  But how exquisite the picture will be?  How transcendent will the journey of the creation of that work of art be?  With a little nod to Andy W. at this juncture.  YES!  So it is.

 Sending so much love...
