Life with Goats
Last night, I heard an owl calling outside my bedroom window. An omen. I listened closer, heard it again, but then it was gone. Or was it? The Owl. It's a symbol of wisdom, yet some cultures fear this creature, claiming it brings death, and perhaps that is so. The owl is an omen of transformation. Death is not always bad. Death is transformation. A stagnant life is a dead life, a meaningless life. That is bad. Living Life requires transformation. Living life requires death. That is good. Living life requires meaning. Death and rebirth. Death to the World. Re-birth to our Real Life-Force within us. Our Creative source. The Creator that dwells with-in us...of course.
We become the creators of our own lives, if we are lucky, if we choose. Here I am amidst my goats, living life daily, dying to the old and being reborn into what is, what is real. Simply. Living life in transit, in transformation. Humbly. Surrendering. Somedays feeling so knocked down. Seeking. Inspiration, searching. Somedays feeling so uplifted. Re-invention...Rebirth. The goals? My goals...growth, transmutation, ascension. Creating sanctuary, for girls and guys...and goats. So much to learn. So much to discover.
Life with goats can be redundant. Life with goats can be hard. The constant feeding and fixing and so many nasty goat habits to navigate. It's tiring. Broken fences, mangled trees. Work, work, work. Hungry goats, thankless goats? So it seems, and yet they are satisfied with just a little scratch on the back, one quick snuggle here and there, after all they realize it's not easy for two hands to comfort 30 goats everyday. Their docile nature, when they exhibit it is a gift. They really are very gracious, couped up and living in a paddock and all, such as they are. Not their choosing. They would probably prefer some wide open acreage and woodland in which to continuously browse all day long. Their acceptance of their lot in life...it is a treasure. As is mine. It makes them wise. May I be as lucky in wisdom as I am in the loving Life that surrounds me. One I am blessed to have. A Life with Goats.
